Every Monday evening at 20.00 o'clock it sounds on ETN.fm and Internetradio.de "Welcome to MELLOMANIA DELUXE". The show of DJ Shah and Pedro del Mar is in the meantime one of the most successful radio formats in Europe. A success story which began in the summer 2001...

History

DJ Shah and Pedro del Mar were in those day on Ibiza in order to make the dance-furious party people happy with their Sound at some gigs. During the day they went for the recovery through the marvellous landscape crisscross and heard as well one of the numerous island radio stations. For both of them it was quickly clear that there is not such a radio-format in Germany, but there should absolutely be it. Therefore they got together in a beach bar and worked out the plan for a corresponding program.

Back in Germany it went stroke on stroke. With the presentation of their ideas at Germany's most successful radio station for electronic music "Sunshine live" Shah and Pedro struck the nerve of the in a simple way and innovatively thinking program leader directly.

So MELLOMANIA went in November 2001 first of all as a part of the program "DJs Afterwork" on air. In the year 2002 Pedro's started in addition the "Global Mix" show, in which he presented guest mixes of DJ sizes from all world. Since Shah and Pedro also realized numerous other music projects and were (and are!) stocked up with ample work for the own label, it soon turned the large distance to the radio station impossibly to manage these programs regularly. Then the two two-hour formats were melted to a four hour long program together.

With the growing success and increasing recognition the idea and the wish arose, to establish MELLOMANIA over the borders of Germany. So the first international show started in 2002 with "Mellomania USA" which had an extreme success. In the year 2004 England followed. Further stations were added.

Since 2004 MELLOMANIA is also available in the form of a double CD compilation in order to supply the loyal fans of this genre with a recording medium. In the meantime already the sixth edition of the compilation is released. In addition people currently work on the realization of an huge MP3-platform which is supposed to operate the Progressive-Trance genre exclusively in Germany. Already today are various MP3s available for download on Mellomania.com and different CDs and merchandising articles can be ordered.

Mellomania artists

Besides Roger P. Shah aka DJ Shah, the "musical brain" of Shah-Music and Mellomania and Patrick Shah aka Pedro del Mar, the master coordinator of Mellomania, Brian Laruso and Sasha da Link belong to the Mellomania artists. While Brian was mainly devoting himself to the more progressive genre, Sasha da Link's productions are melodiously and tranceful.
